daughters lost account

hi my daughters inherited £1500 each around 9 years ago.My ex-wife and i can not remember what we did with the money. We have found out from HSBC where my grandparents with my father as executor had the account the cheques were cashed.
Hsbc have given us the date and cheque numbers but will not tell us where the cheques were credited to.Both cheques were in our daughters names.
i have started mylostaccount search but no luck could i possibly do the same for an isa search? Any other ideas please or why HSBC if they have all details will not just tell us where the cheques were paid into
many thanks

Get your credit reports where all your bank accounts should be listed. Then check each account.0

yep thanks i have all the cheque numbers but HSBC saying because of data protection they do not keep account details after 6 years clearly not true because they told me the cheque numbers and the dates the cheques were cashed.0

Did they have Child trust Fund that you might have put it in?
Link to trace one here

OP - under which name did you search the lost accounts?
It might be that an adult holds the accounts re the children?
IMO the account would be in the name of the adult.
Are you sure that the ex wife had not got the accounts and has spent the money?0 -
Just because HSBC have a record of the cheque numbers and date cashed doesn't mean they still have anything more than that available, it's not unusual for full details to be deleted after 6 years. If you want records longer than that you should keep the data yourself.
Given that one daughter would have been around 8 at the time (you haven't mentioned the other one for some reason) either the money was deposited into an account in their name, in which case you should have some knowledge of that, or it was put into an account owned by you, your wife or a joint account and you've then done something with that money. The answer is to think harder, otherwise I doubt if you'll ever find it (and it may not be anywhere to find).0 -
many thanks my ex wife is trying as well (at the time we were earning good money so we will not of spent ourselves ) my youngest is 15 so i figure if i find one account i will find the other. i will try the child trust and lost isa route as well.
we have checked both and all accounts in our adult names as cheques were made out to the children we can only think we opened accounts in their names. We have tried all the local banks we would of used0 -
I have a vague recollection of receiving some money as a child and it was put into Premium Bonds for me - is something like that a possibility, NS&I or similar..?Evolution, not revolution0
