Help with Credit card purchases YB Gold Card

Hi All, I'm a newbie at credit cards so i'm just after a little help.
I have already read every doc I have been sent and scanned the Yorkshire bank website for the answers... I have a Gold card with 0% on balance transfers and purchases.
I need to try to free up a little cash but obviously I don't want to complete a balance transfer or cash advance as this will cost me due to the higher interest rates. So I would like to pay for a few things on my credit card to allow me to have access to the money in my current account. Therefore can you help give me an idea of what is classed as a purchase?
Can I use my Credit card to pay for things such as Childcare (online Parent pay), gym membership, My avon account, Netflix or buying my tv licence?
Also I know it states services but presumably this does not include things like gas and electric (even if I pay for a top up at the shop), paying the carpet man ect.
Is there a big list anywhere that I can cross check before I use it?

We can give you an idea of what is classed as a purchase but some card issuers have their own policies on what they will class as a cash transaction. At it's most basic level, if you take cash from an ATM or over the counter in a bank/building society, that will be treated as cash.
Pretty much everything else is a purchase. Where it gets complicated is with things like topping up e-wallets (like PayPal) or, perhaps, paying your tax bill, or settling a loan balance. These things are likely to be processed as purchases but some card issuers will treat them as cash. You would need to read the T&Cs of your card to understand what your issuer does.
The types of thing you specifically mention are most likely to be treated as purchases because you are paying for goods/services rather than taking possession of cash or anything that can be readily converted into cash or that you can use somewhere as if it were cash. Gift vouchers, gaming chips in a casino are the sort of thing that could be treated as cash.
Not sure why you feel you'd be charged a high interest rate for a balance transfer when your card is 0% on balance transfers and purchases. Anyway that is somewhat irrelevant because, as you say, you are new to credit cards so you won't have another credit card balance to transfer over.0
