Packaged Bank account reclaim advice

Hi There
First post, i hope this is in the correct area to seek advice.
I recently made a complaint to my bank (Bank Of Scotland) about my monthly fee account on the basis that I was offered no free alternatives that provided an overdraft and that I felt pressured into taking the account during an in branch meeting in 2009 (i was 20 at the time). I also noted that I have used none of the benefits in the whole 10 years that I have had the account.
After a few days, i received a call from the bank saying that they would not be progressing with the case. This is because 1 the account was taken out too long ago (2009), and 2 that i received a letter in 2014 reminding me of the account benefits and had ample oppertunity to cancel the account then.
If there is anyone with similar circumstances that could offer advice, i would very much appreciate it.
Thanks

If you used the overdraft then you would have had £x free before interest would be applied - so you would have used a major part of the package.
They would have a point about the letter sent to you - in fact I get an annual one - if you have not done anything about it then you will not get far now with a complaint.0 -

Meh
Not much you can do.
You used the “features” and were reminded you were using it.0 -
You also presumably benefited by being covered by any insurance, such as travel insurance, which was included in this product. The fact that you never made a claim is not relevant, you were covered.
If you don't want this product then downgrade the account. You have had 10 years to downgrade this account but have continued paying month after month year after year.0
