My ex partner took a credit card out with marbles in my name and ran up charges on it and was never intending to pay much or anything towards this. I knew about this after a length of time and soon after we seperated. Decided to raise this with them as fraud, not with the intention of getting money back or to wipe the charges. But with the intention of getting proof it was not me that done it, i want her to suffer for what she has done.

Anyway's called the fraud team and they said that I allowed my wife to speak on the account, i got pretty angry at this and they closed the fraud case. However i asked for proof of the call, also known as a SAR. Now they said i would get the calls as well as the notes. Guess what, i only got the note and not one part of the notes did it say that i gave her permission to talk on the account. I also called them back and asked for the calls on the account. They never came. I have now paid the account off myself but still want to raise this as an issue. My credit rating is messed up to. There has been no great service from Marbles (newday) to actually help me investigate anything. I just wish i could write to marbles head office to vent my frustration and ask them why they did not supply the evidence to help me build a case when they said they would. They kind of also have lied to me in regards to who was authorised on the account as they then told me later on that my name was the only one on the account.

If your ex-partner took out the account then of course she would be able to "speak on the account" - it was her account surely? So how does this have anything to do with you? (Other than sticking your nose in and bringing problems on yourself).

And why did they even let YOU talk to them about the account? That would be a GDPR breach.

Sounds to me like we're not getting the full story ......
  • i should have said she took it out in my name without my knowledge
