PPI - we know we had it but help...

Options
Hi,

we know we had it but need help on this. We have a couple of addresses, maiden names etc and not much paperwork.

Can you just send letters to the companies in different names or addresses without account details - there would be quite a few we would need.

I know we shouldn’t but could be easier to help with this....If we was to use one of these companies that claim they can do it for you any recommendations on one to use and dont take as much from any claim? Are there any reputable ones we could use...

Thank you for your assistance.

  • Anything the ppi reclaim companies can do you can do yourself - I know this the hard way. Take RBS for example, you could try their online site and fill in their ppi check forms which allow you to list previous addresses and a blank notes box where you could list previous names and chronological history and the lender will check across all their products.

I would imagine that Al the major brands would do something similar so type in your providers name and ppi check and see where that takes you.

Claims companies make you do all the work and then post it. Your finance data is not in the public domain so they have no way of finding this for you, you have to supply it and if you can do that, you can complain. There are no reputable ones, all of them are the same

You can absolutely write to any company you had finance with and ask if you had PPI. If you did, then if you feel you were miss-sold then send in your complaint with your proof.

A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Mostly good advice in your post, other than to warn the OP to ensure they visit the Bank's actual website rather than some of the "cleverly" disguised Claim Company sites which can trap the unwary into believing they are in contact with the Bank....

HI, just going back to this. So you can ask the companies if you had PPI in the first place and then claim if you did?

Thanks for great replies on this.

Yes you can, most of the main providers have these facilities which can be found on their own websites

    You can ask yes

You can't "claim" anything. Simply having PPI is not a problem, only if it was miss-sold. You complain about why you feel it was miss-sold and present your evidence to support your complaint
