Well Hello!

I felt a change of scenery and a shiny new page was in order to document the next chapter in the Hinge households route to debt freedom!

So many changes have occurred these last 12 months, obviously, the biggest change being hitch hiker joining us early last summer! As a family we have welcomed this change and embraced it with all our worth, the mischievous and cheeky personality that is developing daily, lights up us all and never fails to make us smile. Missy H and Superman have/will be moving on to pastures new in the education system. A much needed change of one and a exciting new adventure for the other. And by some miracle it has all unfolded with out a hiccup and the system has actually worked well for us! Both will bring some much needed relief for Mr H and I on both our time and financial resources. Master H continues to grow in to a fabulous young man, bright as a button and as fiery as they come!

Financially, this year has been tough! And with no sign of the windfall we had been told would be coming our way reaching us any time soon we need to keep riding the waves and swimming in the deep end! I am no longer with SC and am driving at the helm of my own dmp…. well I will be when I finally get confirmation from my creditors that they will be accepting my token payments. Total debt figures are looking ok - more then 60% paid off from when this journey began.

Time to turn in - I look forward to finishing off this journey I started so many moons ago!

Wow the return of two much missed posters in one day, you and Greying Pilgrim.

I have often thought about you and your clan and hoped that the hitch hiker had arrived safely and that you were all well.

Lovely to see you Maddiemay! This journey wouldn't be the same with out you cheering us on from the side lines! How are you? managing to get away in the caravan and enjoying some knitting I hope?

The clan is doing great, hitch hiker is full of mischief and in to EVERYTHING! safety gates are out and the living room has been baby proofed.... they are up on their feet already and raring to go  Superman is almost as tall as I am, his hormones are making him feisty! Missy H is having a blip with her fatigue but we know the drill and she will be through the otherside soon enough! Master H is growing so much, he is a challenging at the moment - have to get the balance right as he is a real mixed bag of feisty and emotional :o raging bull or sobbing wreck in 60 seconds  Mr H continues to be a pain in the proverbial...…...:rotfl:

Mr H is wrestling a grumpy octopus trying to get a snot fest teething, hitch hiker to sleep so I am grabbing a warm cuppa and a few minutes to breath :rotfl:

:j A NSD bagged today! Easy when we've only actually ventured to hobbies and back again ;)

I've had some progress on the debt busting front - 3 creditors have accepted my payment plan offers - the last needs me to call them  will add that to the list of jobs to do on Monday once schools back!

Roll on May's budget beginning :o as the bank looks pitiful and the fridge is going for the minimalist look

A busy day yesterday preparing for back to school, Superman had the mother of all meltdowns over his maths homework  we usually manage to avoid such big ones these days but this really caught us off guard. I think the SAT prep is just too much for him.

Lovely roast beef dinner, was a YS joint I bagged over easter that was big enough to cut in 2 3 chunks and freeze :T used the last of the 20p asda veggies too. Must say the farm shop dirty tatties weren't up to scratch this time - may have to have a look round and find another source for these.

£35.88 spent in Tesco for a top up of fruit/veggies and fresh bits, spent some of hitchhikers HS vouchers which saved some £s as well as keeping him stocked up on blueberries and cucumber too :rotfl: kid loves his grub!!

moved some money around today to cover the last of the April DD bills. New money month begins tomorrow :j:j much needed after a long costly month!

meeting a friend for a coffee so best dash!

Just done my energy switch through the cheap energy club as our fixed deal ends in 2 weeks, should save £28 a month and get £25 cashback for switching. :money: They offer the Warm home discount too - rather daunting changing! ….. have been with Eon for 12 years

 start of the new month financially today :j

some DD's all set to go out tomorrow, budget done (just need to stick to it :o)

Treated Hitchhiker to a swim (£4) and some lunch (£13) He's worn out now and currently snoring on the sofa next to me!

I've started a list of what we need :( from things like trainers and pjs of the little H's, a new mattress for our bed, new draw for the freezer to baking trays, pegs and storage boxes!! Some of these things I can pick up a few a month alongside the food shopping, the bigger things are going to take some saving for. I sold some bits on the local selling pages yesterday so the pot starts at £16. I haven't much left to sell but will keeping going with the bits that I have!

    Free money is looking good...….

    prolific stands at £17
    NatWest rewards £6.06
    Boots £7.64
    costa £2.10
isay 740 points - almost another £10 voucher
    shoppix 1550 - half way to a £5 voucher
receipt Hog 863 - half way to a £5 paypal out

Best go and wash up and plan some tea before the school run.... everyone has hobbies tonight so this rather hectic!

Bank account survived the battering of the DD's today :rotfl: I had forgotten 2 of Master H's hobbies have been paused for a few months so there is £53 to move over to the save for the bigger "need" things.

£32 spent in Asda this morning for the bits I can't buy in Aldi this week! Receipts snapped and uploaded for points. I need to check the cupboards and work out a loose meal plan for this week in order to write a shopping list. I'm tackling the cereal cupboard this month..... for breakfasts I am eating my way through the half open boxes that no one really likes/wants to eat. I had some posh granola this morning that Mr H tried and didn't like :o it's very tasty :D best not get a liking for it though as it's rather pricey :rotfl:

Have you tried making your own granola? Supposed to be cheaper and you can put in exactly what ingredients are liked.

Hi Pollie and welcome to my humble abode :D

I have previously made my own granola, I have a few different recipes I like including a honey one and a peanut butter one - however I have found after 3 days they soften and lose the "crunch" no matter how I store them! If I had more spare time I would definitely make some in smaller batches but I'm time poor these days!

Shopping list composed and a trip to Aldi is on the horizon when I can convince hitchhiker to eat his breakfast and get washed/dressed. On checking stores we are in need of a jolly good replenish  the little Hinges have eaten us out of house and home over Easter break..... well all except half open cereal :rotfl:

Terrible night sleep here in the house of Hinge, Superman, hitch hiker and even the Hinge Moggies were in fine fettle singing a tune or two at 3 am until Mr H put them out side :rotfl: Spooky stuff must be Brewing that or Hitch hiker is a little of kilter and coming down with something!

Mr H made the most of the bargain bin whilst grabbing some milk at the local shop last night.... a good haul of free from easter eggs reduced to 88p that will keep Missy h in sweet snacks for a week or so :rotfl: teenage girls ability to make chocolate last is none existent it seems!
