PEA Parking Charge Notice

Someone I know was issued a parking charge notice (PCN) by PEA for not displaying a parking ticket while parked at the titanic quarter Belfast. They have now passed this onto a company called UCS (Ultimate Customer Solutions) who are sending the person letters for payments. The money they are demanding is extortionate in such a small time period. Can these people take you to court? They say in their letters they can. I’d really appreciate clear advise on the legality of this!

They can take you to court for havinga silly haircut if they wish, winning is another matter.

Read the stickies/FAQs they specially mention PCNs in N.I.

Throughout here you are advised never to reveal who was driving

You need to edit your post to remove details of who was driving

The ppcs monitor this forum and can use posts in your thread against you in Court

and complain to your MP, they are trying to scam you wherever you live.

MPs are very familiar with this scam and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these private parking companies. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, and persistent offenders denied access. Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers.

Until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.
