They send you a letter saying that they are going to send you a cheque as the account is now closed.0 -
I have used the telephone number for Halifax and told to visit a branch as moved and no longer bank with them. Nobody knows what I am talking about! Told to raise a complaint which I have done. Manager said received no notification about it and had to show article.0

My wife has got a letter relating to a cash ISA and a promise that a cheque is on its way.
Oddly I had a cash ISA about the same time but no letter has arrived, must dig back.
Did you get any more information about why you did not hear anything in spite of having an account around the same time?
I called the Halifax number and the person I spoke to on the phone
a. was aware of the issue
b. was aware of the total payout amount
c. was aware that there were around 20,000 people affected
What he wasn't aware of was:
a. how to confirm if I was one of the affected people
b. the conditions one needed to fulfill to be deemed as "affected"
c. the timelines by which all affected people would be informed.
So all in all, of not much help overall.0 -
I got my letter today from Lloyds.
£598!
Chuffed with that. Hoping that I'll get one from Halifax as well...What is pi? Where did it come from?0 -

That means you had a not insignificant amount of money in very poor paying savings accounts, £598 from them means you have probably lots thousands in interest by not putting the money in higher paying accounts elsewhere.
I hope you have that money better placed now.0 -

That's what I don't get... it's my direct debit account and the money my expenses go into from work (which then cover my direct debits!). Most £400 a month for a week or so before they go back out again.
I do have a ISA but it's not used with Lloyds for years and another savings account that isn't used either.
Phoned to check it's correct as it's a lot that I wasn't expecting...but they confirmed it.What is pi? Where did it come from?0
