Okay, so at the minute I have the following services from virgin:

A landline that I don't use
100 megabyte broadband
L tv package (TiVo box)

Currently paying £54.50 per month which is going up to £62.50 a month from next month.

I use internet for Skype and social media and watch Netflix through tv. I do like being able to record tv shows.

Please can anyone advise me how I can continue to do this for a cheaper price? I don't have an aerial as far as I may aware...not sure if would need one for a now tv box...I'm not very tech savvy!! Any suggestions appreciated!

What do you actually want ??
    D0 you need 100MB .
What is on the TV package that you want ??

Alternatives to VM are in the main max 76 meg .

Landline Rental is for the actual data line that BB TV etc travels over . You do not need to use as a phone line .

I only need the Internet to be fast enough for Netflix and Skype.

In terms of tv I'd still like to record tv. We watch sky one, E4, CBeebies, a couple of others kids channels, sy-fy, channel 4...not many really.

    So key is

    Sky One and Sy-FY.

You need a TV package with those channels .
Sky TV or BT TV .

20 meg would cover that .

Recording would require a Sky Box for Sky or BT TV box for BT for internet channels .

    Price up here.

Would it be possible to pay for BB and buy an Amazon fire stick to watch tv with? I know I probably wouldn't get some of the channels I like but could this be a cheaper option?

You definitely wouldn't get some of the channels you list, if you have a smart TV it'll probably do most of what you'd use a Firestick for at no additional cost as you'll only have access to the apps either way without getting a TV aerial fitted.

Correction: it's 100 megabit (Mb) broadband speed, not megabyte (MB).

As for the question, apart from Sky 1 & SyFy the other "main" channels (BBC & ITV) are free.

Sky do BB as well as TV, so you could check out their offerings; there are often money back promotions via Topcashback, etc.

I have to say that Virgin BB is very good; I have Virgin BB and Sky TV. (Actually I have Sky BB as a back-up too, but I rarely use it, so it's not really money saving I have to admit.)
