As the title suggests, can one get a card without the account nowadays? I can't seem to find an answer online.

To use Revolut you have to sign up for an account, then the card is available. How do you expect to obtain or use the card otherwise..?Evolution, not revolution0

Well, I personally have had a Revolut card for a few years but do not have a Revolut current account. So, my question should have read 'can one obtain a revolut account and card WITHOUT opening a current account?'0 -
Revolut do not offer a "current account"...0

Do they not?
What is the ‘current account’ they refer to then?

It's a pre-paid top-up card.

That's fine then. I see it as a prepaid top up card only as that is what it was when I got it 3-4 years ago but now they use the term 'current account' I assumed that things had changed. Naturally, I've not needed to research this as I already have one and it is only now that a friend is looking to get one and asked for advice; he said 'oh, but it is a current account and isn't yours just a prepaid card?' This made me think that they had changed their product and for new customers it is a full blown current account. I find it a great service but do think that it is unnecessarily misleading to say it is a current account. If nothing else, surely it'll deter potential customers who simply want a prepaid card but navigate away when they read that it is (even if it isn't) a current account.0 -
I have a Revolut which I personally find (ab)useful, but I don't understand what the intended purpose of the card is!0

Starling is better and is a fully-fledged current account.
Plus has no limits on cash withdrawals when abroad0 -

Cool, thanks. Agree it looks better cash withdrawal wise but the card will largely be used to pay for goods/services so 200/month in cash is more than enough.
My friend doesn't want to be credit checked (his credit is fine but is planning to get a mortgage this year so does not want to do anything that will be detrimental to it) which is why I advised Revolut.0
