Open in chrome, how do you change?

Using my android tab, if I want to save a page to homescreen, it always says "open in chrome". This seems to be unchangable. I've Google it and there is a suggestion to change via settings-advanced, but when you get there, there isn't, and someone has said, that option has gone. Thoughts please.

In the Chrome browser on my Android tablet the three dots icon top right offers the option "Add to Homescreen" which puts a shortcut on an available screen. Clicking that shortcut launches Chrome and the webpage loads. Same with the Edge browser except it loads using Edge.

So I'm not certain what you are trying to achieve and what you expect.

I cleared files and data on phone and it improved. I then did the same on my tablet, both Samsung. But, the pages /icons i'd saved to homepage disappeared. But only those that had been saved through chrome. So I thought if I'd saved them differently, maybe they wouldn't have gone.
