Apple Watch Screen Repair

Morning,

Has anyone had any experience with getting a cracked screen fixed on an Apple Watch.

We've checked the usual places such as eBay and local businesses but I can't find anyone who can fix at a decent price. I'm aware Apple offer a service but they are really expensive.

I've checked my home contents insurance and even though it would be covered they want £250 excess (I may as well buy a new one)

We are usually quite canny with our stuff like this ensuring we have screen protectors etc but I just kept forgetting to buy a cheap screen protector.

Thanks
Jason

It does require specialist equipment to extract the screen, indeed Apple will simply replace the unit - which is why the price is so high (I’m assuming you didn’t take out AppleCare which is a cost-effective option costing £59 at Time Of purchase.

Depending on model, you may find it cheaper to buy second hand - I saved £300 by doing this for a Series 4 Stainless.... and it also has 14 months of AppleCare left too!

Cheers Buzby. Nah I didn't get the Applecare option. I simply purchased it online and didn't even see that option.

I think I'm simply going to have to live with it for the time being

Apple’s service pricing can be found at https://support.apple.com/en-gb/watch/repair/service/pricing

It’s pretty pricey without AppleCare though which I’d suggest you get on your watch in the future. You can add it within the first 60 days of purchase and it extends the warranty to 2 years and gives you two incidents of accidental damage for a £49 excess

Funnily I’ve just claimed on my AppleCare+ for accidental damage after the lower half of the screen got covered in scratches. I contacted Apple to arrange a replacement at about 16:30 yesterday afternoon. My replacement watch arrived at 11am this morning
