London rents soaring due to tenant taxes

Rightmove are reporting that asking rents in London have hit a record high.
Not unsurprising, given the additional property taxes on renters and landlords over the past few years:

The tenant taxes were a terrible idea, which inevitably would have driven rents up as costs rises for landlords

Yes there have been changes to how landlords are taxed....
Are you asserting that if a landlord's costs change he should similarly change his rent required?0 -
