Afternoon folks. Well thanks to SCARLET RIBBONS I didn't clean the windows this afternoon! Instead I read reviews on the K*rcher window vac (despite reading glowing reports about them previously on OS) and have ordered one to collect tomorrow! So instead of the windows I made a head start on the Friday Tidy by cleaning the kitchen this afternoon instead!
We haven't had much rain today (just a mid afternoon shower) but it's looking decidedly black at the back so I am not writing off another downpour.
I had a profitable shop at Aldi this morning with going early. Lots of items with 50% off and I grabbed quite a few different fish products to start the freezer re-stock. A piece of haddock has been left out for my tea.
It's very quiet on here today, which is more than I can say for Casa Abuela! The drilling from next door has gone on and on and quite a few times I expected the drill coming through the wall! I may have to buy some ear plugs.
Nice to hear CHS is progressing well HESTER. I hope he isn't talked into going back to work before he is ready.
I hope things are as well as they can be with the poorlies and the poorly mums xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Hi folks...late late one from me. It's been a heck of a day.
I've only just stopped and have been on the go since early doors and not even been to visit DM. A friend was set to go until I got a call to say that she was being transferred to the rehab hospital. That was at 12 noon...she's just (6.30pm) being moved now. Anyway, the busy day was OK busy, just exhausting.
Tomorrow morning I'm going to see a physio about my poorly hip, I'm 99% convinced it's a dodgy hip flexor which can be sorted out. Then I have to wait in for the delivery of a new chair for me. None of the ones here, or the sofa, are at the correct height for me to be comfortable. As I will probably be here for a a few more weeks at least I have to be comfortable for my dodgy knee. I'm just falling apart.
I've been moving furniture around too, with the help of DM's cleaner. Thank goodness for furniture gliders, they make all the shifting so much easier.
It's been a real change to come in at the end of the day to catch up on everyone's news.
Thoughts to all having difficulties and a sprinkling of good vibes all round.0 -
Late one too..Was up early, but not very compos this morning after film last night [was driven there and back by a friend who came too so that was a relief], which was really good, will be going to see it again...
Had radio, have bigger sunburn, seeing a nurse tomorrow for advice on how to deal with it, which will basically come down to nothing really except some frozen peas or some special gel stuff. Best get some frozen peas I think.
Came home and slept. Am currently hungry but no idea what to have, I'm just a bit useless at the moment, get up and go has gone on holiday I think.
Nice to see some old faces, hope everyone is doing well...

Not a good week here, on Tuesday we were called over to a neighbour's house, she is in a wheel chair. Her husband had collapsed in the kitchen.
Afraid it was a case of trying to recussitate him, but it was not to be. The ambulance men who came confirmed that he had passed away.
The rest of the week has paled into insignificance after that.0
