Hi, I go to film and comic conventions, you pay to meet famous people etc. At these events you can purchase photo ops with said famous person. You can also do this online, in advance of the event as some of the more popular guests sell out.
I did this, I paid with debit card for a guests photo op, it was £89.50 in total on 4th February 2019. (As many people did) on April 1st, this guest announced he had to cancel attending the event. The organisers then also announced this, stating refunds would happen automatically.
24th April, still no refund, or contact from the company. How long are they allowed to delay refunding this? And I assume I am entitled to my refund?
Please advise, sorry if I forgot vital info, didn't want to type too long a post.

Contact your card issuer and request a Chargeback.0

I bought several photos ops at the same time. Only part of that total amount needs to be refunding. I have never done a charge back so I dont know if this would affect it?
Update. Second person cancelled so I am now owed another part of that original order given back to me.
Talk of the company having serious financial issues, so if they do indeed go bankrupt, where do I stand?
Thanks0 -
As mentioned contact your bank and request a chargeback0

This happened to a friend a few years ago and she got the refund a few days after the actual event took place. When is the event being held?0

Phone your card provider and tell them you want to make a chargeback of x amount.0 -
The event is 25th May. People who went to events in Portland and also another London event that happened a few weeks ago are still waiting too.
Apparently the company running the event are in big trouble and have changed name etc, owe a lot of people.
Brilliant, I didn't realise I could ask for a specific amount on a charge back
Thank you.0 -

Thank you.
You can only ask for the amount you spent.0 -
Yes of course. I didn't mean any other amount. I just didn't realise I could request a part of a larger amount to be refunded. As multiple things were bought as part of the transaction and only part of it is owed a refund.0
