Please tell me what happens to electricity I export when my FIT contract ends. Should I consider buying battery storage at that time?

I'd wait a while before getting worried about whats going to happen when it stops.
FIT's didn't start until 2010 and run for either 20 years for wind, biomass and some other stuff or 25 years for solar voltaic. So you should be good until at least 2030 or 2035 if you started on day 1.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
Here is a news article that might be relevant to your question.

Is it Solar/Wind or Hydro or CHP? I don't remember the years for each but I thought wind and solar had the same 20~25 year payout, and CHP was short but there's only a small handful of people who have those.0 -
The cost of battery storage will vastly exceed the saving you would make by using it. Unless the technology improves radically in the next decade. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
