Christmas would be cancelled if left to the men in our family

My ex hubby (now a friend) is hopeless - no good with writing cards or anything. Christmas never existed for us but now it does as I have my own place. He would even whinge that I would give up my time and go and volunteer for Radio Lollipop and work in soup kitchens.
I shall be cooking myself some organic roast chicken with all the trimmings just for moi!0 -
To be honest I think most blokes still believe in Santa, if their contributions to the xmas preparations are anything to go by:rolleyes: .The only thing my ex chipped in for was the xmas booze buying.Mmmm I wonder why!!"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

:rotfl: yup, here too!
In fairness though I enjoy most of it. I like shopping for gifts, finding bargains et al. Though a bit of company would be nice occassionally. And in fairness, I prepare the meat, he cooks everything else on the day so it works out nicely!:rudolf:0 -
"To be honest I think most blokes still believe in Santa",
lolol, that is so true. I'm going to write 'from Santa' on all of his tags this year and see if he gets the joke.0 -
I presume by the lack of protests on this thread that we ladies are completely correct that most men lack the skills to orgainise Christmas in Lapland , or any other type of Christmas...
Well ladies all I can say is HURRAH!!! for us :rotfl:#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

I want to ban christmas in my house, I hate shopping & REALLY hate the way people go schizo in the run up to christmas buying everything they can lay their hands on in the way of food so they can stuff themselves to bursting point on a single day.Winnings

well my husband thinks that christmas `just happens` ...does it heck as like
I was not looking forward to christmas this year but hey I said to myself `chin up girl, get on with it`
and I have
ordered a luxury organic hamper
ordered organic meats from the same site
will order all veg, fruit and dairy from riverford so no worries re shopping
given away the big tree
organised all the children and their spouses into doing old fashioned presents for under £10
ordered my own present on the net ....and why not as I`m getting something I WANT ie a ds lite
organised my dh to get his own present sorted (revenge!!!)
Thats it done and dusted. Naturally I`ll organise the veg peeling as well. I`m not doing it
call it a project managed0 -
We have a magic fairy in our house....... ME! the only thing he actually does is pick up the meat from the butcher on Xmas eve whilst I'm screaming round the blue & white store at 7 in the morning.
And yes nobody would have a card or present if he had to do it, I doubt he would even know where a pen was to write them...LOL
I have been multiskilled this week as off to Cuba on Monday.
I have washed & Ironed holiday clothes
Packed
Sorted milk & papers
Bought all the Xmas presents
Written all the Xmas Cards today
Made a curry for when we come home
Sorted dogs food and instructions for brother (Dog sitting)
Reminded everyone its my Mums birthday on Monday
Cleaned the house
Washed and dried bedding and changed bed
Just have to do Sunday Lunch tomorrow and thats me done & dusted for a fortnight.
The only thing he has to do is bring the cases downstairs and put them in the boot!!
Men....agh

i do most of the xmas itinery in our house too.But now that ive just thought about it ,i dont think i would want him to get involved with the pressie buying because financially i can make so much more out of so little if you know what i mean!I know what the kids would like ,where to get it from and how to use my money to its best.ie use of 3 for 2,clubcard points etc.I find it frustrating when he gets my pressies and i know that i couldve got loads more for the same amount. But my mum always says i should never ever moan at him cos theres many men out there who dont buy a thing for their loved ones!0

mine might just manage to write a couple cards to some of his relatives (cards, stamps and pen provided by me) otherwise I do it all.
One year life was so hectic with family illness that it was a choice between a a few hours rest or writing all the Xmas cards. That year no one and I mean no one received a card , I blamed the Post Office for non delivery
.
By Xmasweek I am usually telling everyone to S*d off as I am so stressed and you would really not like to meet me in the supermarket in the week before Xmas.0
