Christmas would be cancelled if left to the men in our family

Just wonder if its the same for other families, in ours its the women that plan it, write and post the cards, find out what people would like, shop for it, wrap it, etc etc etc ......... if I did nothing there really wouldn't be much of a christmas... and my husband really does help me but he wouldn't know where to start if I wasn't telling him what to do... for instance wouldn't even know his own families addresses if it wasn't for me keeping MY address book up to date... would have no idea which of his vast array of elderly aunts and uncles had actually passed away in the last year... what sort of things the grandkids are 'in to' this year... maybe we are in a minority....but I'd be interested to know
How is it for your family?.....

Fraid its the same here lol ....
There is one thing however that he always helps me with (in fact its more I help him now lol) and thats the christmas dinner.
I do absolutely everything else...shopping, cards, gifts, wrapping, decorations, putting decorations up, planning when relatives are coming around, planning when we are popping there, cooking bits and pieces in advance....chutneys, pickle onions, etc. (all what he loves lol), organising christmas parties, being the taxi for the social activities of our children (convenient that I dont drink for him lol) etc. etc.
If it was up to him he wouldnt apart from the dinner and a couple of bevvies lol0 -
same as both of you, oh is rubbish at doing anything like that, i even have to buy my own birthday prezzie because he forgets my birthday is 3 days after xmas. i mean ive only been with him 16 YEARS.0

its the same in this house if it was left to my husband nobody would have any pressies and we definatly wouldn't have a christmas dinner the only thing that he does do is put the kids toys together on christmas eve but who am i to complain i love christmas:j0

moan time here,
this is the whole reason why i cant be bothered with xmas anymore!! i do it all and i am sick of it.... i wish it was spring0 -
Xmas for my Oh means handing over some cash and putting the lights on the xmas tree:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: . that is his total contribution to the festive season.
Xmas def wouldn't happen if left to the man in our house:eek: . Every year I do the planning, shopping, wrapping, cards, distributing, food shopping, cooking, decorating, hosting, putting decs up and taking down and everything else (except the lights which he def sees as a mans job:rolleyes: ) then after xmas he always says he doesn't know why people say it is hard work

Same in my house...the most taxing thing my hubby does over the whole christmas period is to see how early he can get off work on xmas eve!0

Same here too, the only thing my OH contributes to Christmas is to bring all the pressies round in his van on Christmas Eve that I've stored at his house, he doesn't even help me set them out :rolleyes:0

I SO agree. I buy the gifts, I buy, write and address the cards, I put decorations up, the only thing he ever does is to go and buy the Christmas tree, and he is very proud of himself then! He also says "I never know what you want for Christmas" so a couple of days ago I went and bought myself a handbag and said to him "You just bought me a Christmas present and this is how much you owe me." You gotta laugh or you will cry!Reclaimed thanks to this site:

Oh it's so nice to know we're 'normal'. :rotfl:
I do everything too up until the point where I get massively stressed out and have not enough time left to wrap the presents I've gathered all year then I blow a gasket and demand he helps me otherwise Christmas is off and we're having beans on toast for dinner!
