Contents claim on someone else's property in my care

I am in the process of dealing with a contents insurance claim following a break-in at my property. In addition to cash, jewellery and watches of mine that were stolen, some items belonging to my daughter and in my care while she moved from one house to another in London were also taken. I am wondering what is the likelihood of a successful claim for her property on my insurance. What should I be looking for, and actually, do I stand much of a chance...?
Any help appreciated...

Can you tell us who you are insured with? If possible, a link to the PDF of the policy wording would help (most insurers make this available online). Also, does your daughter have Contents insurance that was in force at the time of the break in?

Also, what was the nature of the items, e.g. were they "valuables" such as jewellery and watches or other items such as clothing?

Assuming your daughter wasn't actually living with you at the time I'm thinking there's not much chance of you being able to claim under your policy as the items weren't owned by you or your legal responsibility. There might be a better chance of her claiming under her own policy if she had one.
