Ford Fiesta Engine Malfunction Warning - Accelorator issue?

Options
Wondering if anyone has an answer for this annoying issue. Have a Fiesta MK7 2010 plate. Engine malfunction light comes on and car goes into limp mode. Turn the ignition off and on and disappears. Happens more in the first 15 minutes of starting the engine and when driving slowly. Recently had a new accelorator pedal put in which helped for a few weeks. The diagnostic seemed to be focusing on the accelorator but it is happening again now. Had new oil filter and oil change done. Any ideas?

The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

EAC Fail are a real chase-your-tail type fault, there are many threads online for it, could be anything (literally anything) between throttle pedal and ECU.

Played a similar game on my uncle's Ford. On his the things we found were:

You can't just throw a throttle pedal in and everything is OK. The ECU has to have the calibration data for the throttle pedal put into it so it knows what values are foot off pedal and full throttle.

Unless you fitted a new accelerator pedal then the chances are if it is a second hand one its failed too - this ended up being ultimately his problem although I'm not saying it is yours.

Take the throttle body off and clean with carb cleaner.
