Council tax reduction ?

Basically I suffered a bleed on my brain in 2015 which weakened my left side . I was then diagnosed with a brain tumour 6 weeks later which has been treated but is still there . I still manage to work part time but am in receipt of pip . My partner works full time . The bleed has left me with difficulty in seeing properly…

If anyone else out there is applying, ask about it been backdated as well. I presume it is up to the relevant council but ours certainly did it.

Disabled Band Relief can be a funny one as the legislation is worded differently than it is for other discounts - most councils will argue the case on the basis of Arca. Other discounts aren't as much of a problem if council's get awkward.

I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.
