Hotpoint have been doing this for years, I think it's a terrible practice and I don't buy their products any more. Especially after the tumble dryer fires.0

In 16 years I've replaced two elements and a few bulbs, get the parts from espares.com and they have loads of how to vids too.0

I've replaced a grill element and the light in my Hotpoint oven myself with the help of a YouTube Video, cost me £17 for the element on Ebay. For other applicances that I can't fix myself I have separate warranties which cover new for old if they can't be repaired. I weigh up the cost of these with the cost to replace the item, you need to do your homework before buying something on the strength of a "parts only" warranty.0
