Is your landlord allowed to give your current address out to third parties (such as your previous landlord) unless legally required to do so? I assume it would be personal information under The data protection act?

We are actually more concerned about her bad-mouthing us to our new landlord

So what? You've already moved in. Makes no difference who she phones, you are protected by a tenancy.

In January this year our landlord informed us she was selling the house we have lived in for 10 years and gave us 8 weeks notice. Luckily we were able to secure another private rental property and moved out within the time. She also gave us a good reference and returned our deposit in full.

She is now harassing my wife by text message saying that we have left property in the garden shed, and that the she's is falling down and that she wants our new address or she will contact our new landlords for the address and tell them that we have left property and caused damage to the shed.
We are concerned that this behaviour constitutes harassment as we have told her before that the shed had suffered weather damage over time and she had done nothing. Also any property in the shed was not ours and belonged to a previous remnant. We moved out 2 months ago, and apparently the new buyer wants the shed clearing!

Not really sure what we should do as she says she will Bill us for the removal of any items?

'harassing' or simply 'asking' ?

Did she properly protect your deposit? If not threaten to take her to Court
