Highview Tesco WSM

Hey guys,

Just need to ask a little bit of advice as this is the first time having one of these cowboy companies send PCNs to me. Long story cut short, this car park in question allows a free 30m stay to all and a 2h stay for all customers who spend £5 in store, I have bank transactions to prove this is the case for me, and they have issued me a PCN for a 1h 30m stay.
I also must say the signage for this is absolutely shocking and no way visible to a driver.

I've seen a lot of threads to just ignore, as they cannot legally take money from me, especially with the proof I have of this incident.
Or is this a case of copying and pasting the default template from the newbies thread and email it across with my name as the registered keeper at the bottom?
Apologies for the questions, just want to make sure this doesn't come back and bite me in the area lol.

Any extra advice would be appreciated on this

Andy

We do not advise ignre, many of these scammers will take you to court.

The way to fight these claims id full set out in the stickies/FAQs. Have you read them.

Also, we advise you to get your MP on side, they are trying close these companies down and o On 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these private parking companies. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, and persistent offenders denied access. Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers.

Until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies. sims

Thank you both, I will copy and paste the template from the newbie thread and hope for the best. I tried arguing the case with Tesco directly and have said they will intervene only if the initial appeal is refused. As they have said i complied with rules set in force in the car park.
Do I literally just sign off the appeal as my name and leave it at that?

Jeez what rubbish have you been reading, and where?

That’s about the score with Highview.

Just do some forum searches beforehand
on keywords ‘Highview Tesco’, ‘Highview appeal’, and ‘Highview drop down box’ and that will get you nicely lined up with the knowledge to get the ticket cancelled.

HOW TO USE THE FORUM SEARCH FUNCTION:

Hit your 'Back' button to get back to the forum thread list. On the bar just above the threads you'll see the 'Search' function. Click on the 'Advanced Search' button and on the following page place your keyword(s) in the 'Search By Keyword(s)' and make sure the 'Show Results As' button

The advice to ignore has not been given here since the law changed in 2012.

Follow the advice in the NEWBIES. Send the blue appeal template, complain to the store manager and the CEO. Include redacted copies of your receipts/card statements.

Also complain to your MP about this unregulated scam.

Get your own pics of the site and signage.

Luckily Highview are easy to beat, so follow the advice and then shop at Waitrose nearby, or Morrisons at the other end of the bypass which aren't infested by parking scammers (yet).
Send the Tesco store manager and CEO copies of your Morrisons/Waitrose receipts to show how much they are losing per week/month as a result of their actions.

    Okay will do.
Sorry didn't mean on this site necessarily to ignore, it's from what I've been told and seen around.
Unfortunately easier said than done with the signage as I live in Bristol and not WSM, so not there on a regular basis either

Sorry guys forgot to ask, on HVs online appeal page it asks for a valid email address before proceeding. Silly question but should I use my real email address or one that i don't or does it not matter?

Just set up a free GMail or Hotmail throwaway email address to use just for dealing with this parking charge. You don’t want to be giving any of this lot your regular email address, you don’t know who they might pass it on to.

Most people set up a throwaway email address just for contacting the parking scammers.
It only takes a few minutes to generate one.

You've been misled by what you have been told and seen around. It's a good job you came here instead of ignoring.

I can get photos for you when I next visit the town which should be within the next two weeks; however if you send the template appeal asap it should be cancelled before then. I believe the record stands at about two hours from submission to cancellation.
