It is around £155 every 4 weeks but is never exactly the same amount.
Is the £155 (approx) paid on the same day every four weeks and could the variation relate to the number of days in the month?

OP does/did she have some kind of bond or fixed term deposit that would generate that amount of interest?

OR those figures you quoted - is her NI number in there at all which might suggest a pension of some sort to me.
(Could it be a pension she was getting through her husband?)

The 4 weekly thing is interesting - which suggests pension type payment rather than investment type income.

Frankly I'd start to get tough with the bank and "demand" they locate the source of the payments.
They can can quite easily - it's just a matter of getting them to
    1. Acknowledge your right under the circumstance to the info
    2. The reasonableness of the request - executors duties after death etc.
    3. For them to crank up their anti-money laundering process to find the source of the monies.

As ever I can only repeat my usual manta of never deal with any general call centre in these matters - only deal with the special bereavement dept and preferably by letter and not by phone call - so there is a written record.

I agree with those who say it looks like a pension of some sort. Playing around with the groups of numbers, I think the suggestion of a Halifax sort code is a red herring.

The first block F114519875 is constant, probably your late mum's personal ref, while the second block is the payment due date. After that, I'm stuck:o

Was your mother in receipt of a widow's pension from your father's pension scheme?
