ESA / PIP Reviews

DWP told me they have changed PIP reviews from 12 months to 6 months before reviewing ones PIP claim. So instead of my review in october it is now gonna be march 2020, But I feel a an early review would help due to my worsening back pain and im on extreme strong painkillers and seeing a physio for it. PLus aload of other different things.

Has been a stressful year. I got sent dreaded ESA50 last april and a decision wasn't made for months and I only got awarded 6 months, I got another ESA50 on March exactly 6 months so seems they're on the ball with my claim. I called centre for health and disability and they told me again I don't need a face to face and my file has been sent back to DWP. Surely DWP can't seem not asking me for a face to face and just giving me 6 months. it's extremely stressful.

I've not heard of PIP review forms being sent 6 months before the award is due to end, this is the first i've heard of this. My daughter's recent review was 12 months before it ended. He next review form will also be sent 12 months before the award is due to end.

For ESA unless you're placed into the severe conditions group and future re-assessments are turned off then they can re-assess you anytime from 3 months.

If you want your PIP review now you just need to ring DWP and tell them your condition is worse. they will send out a form and carry out a reassessment. Of course there is no guarantee as to whether the outcome will be better or worse for you.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

I spoke to DWP regarding the outcome of my medical. The people at centre for health and disability know my outcome but cant give me it. But they told me to contact DWP and ask to speak to a decision maker and get them to look at the msrs system. If anyone if familiar with this.

I didn't require a face to face medication and my file was sent back to dwp on 17th of april.

Im worried about contact PIP for a early review as I don't wanna lose withat I have. But my back is in agony and i get dihydrocodeine and diazepam to try relax my muscles etc. and temazepam.

When you submit a pip review can they do a paper based decision as well or does it need to be face to face?

The health assessment providers won't know the outcome because the report will just be a recommendation. You can't be found fit for work without a face to face but you can be placed into either of the groups.

If you report a change of circumstances for PIP you'll be sent more forms and most likely need another face to face assessment. Yes, it's possible to have a paper based assessment but it's rare and most people have face to face assessments.

Spoke to DWP and no ESA decision was made so not sure what the other guy was talking about.

As for my PIP I got awarded 5 years based on a paper decision. So im a bit worried if i do an early review it might cause stress.

Once the report has been returned to DWP the health assessment providers won't know what the decision is because it's out of their hands.

From the stories i've read, i've never known someone have a paper based assessment twice in row but of course i don't know that for sure. I do know that reporting a change of circumstances, is risky.
