Extra energy

Just wondering what is the time frame I should get my money back from extra energy going bust.
November my account was moved to ScottishPower. They not given me any updates. On higher tariff as don’t want to sign up with them. Others cheaper tariff have early exit fee?
So 5 months now. Becoming a joke.
Can I leave ScottishPower and what will happen if I do with credit I am owed
Please help?

You won't be getting any money back.
Any credit will be added to your Scottish Power account. But that won't happen until Extra Energy administrators create a final bill. That's taking some time as you chose an appalling supplier who ultimately went bust, so you can imagine what their records are like that the administrator now has to work with.
You have been free to switch from Scottish Power for months now.
But remember, if you move to another low cost supplier you may be in trhe same position again in a few months time. If suppliers are not charging enough to cover their operating costs, they will go eventiually go bust, possibly owing £millions.
It's a competitive marketplace and the big suppliers don't want to lose their customers, but neither do they want to go bust.
If you leave a supplier, the supplier will create a final bill, which needs to be settled either way usually within a couple of weeks0
