Advice on "removed listing" please

Hi,
I won an item on Sunday 29th May and paid at once by Pay Pal. I received email from seller saying that it would be posted on Tuesday.
Today (Thursday) I have got an email from eBay saying that the "Listing has been removed & sellers trading privileges have been suspended". It goes on to tell me
a)not to pay (too late) or
b)to ask for a refund or
c)to review the "Buyer Complaint Process" at Pay Pal.

What would you do?

The details of the listing and bid history etc have disappeared from "My eBay" and the item number does not come up when I do a search. Seems a bit late to "remove a listing" several days after the auction has been won???!!! But it doesn't look as though the seller has posted the item as I would have expected it to have got here by now (2 other wins on same day arrived yesterday).
Any advice most welcome.

Firstly if you check your email you would have the details in there
ie your bid confirmation, your invoice from the seller.

My advice would be to email the seller and ask them if they are posting the item. If they do not reply or you do not receive the item by Monday then start "the item not received" procedure.

This happened to me before and i contacted the seller and i did receive the goods.

    Hope this helps.

Also a good idea is before paying, click the pay by cheque or postal order button as this gives you the sellers address whereas by paying via paypal you dont.

    Hope this helps
  • Thanks I'll email her now and see what happens.

If you use the invoice button *before* paying by paypal you do get the sellers address which as you say is useful. However I certainly would never pay for anything by cheque or postal order, if the seller does a runner you might have their address but no way of getting your money back unless you really feel up to threatening them, which isn't my style.

With paypal, just bung in a chargeback as soon as things look wrong.

  • I've had an email back from seller saying that the item was posted yesterday Thursday - (although she initially said she would send it on Tuesday) so I'll wait and see.

Still confused why eBay "remove a listing" 4 days after the auction was won and paid for.
The transaction has vanished from "My EBay" (it was there up to Wednesday pm) even though the transaction was carried out through eBay before the listing was removed.
  • I have received the item - so all's well that ends well - can't give or receive feedback on it but that's the only problem.
