My partner and I have been together 26 years. He is a teacher and is applying for a post in the Middle East. We need to be married for the visa. Best wedding I went to was a simple registry office, 2 witnesses, 4 guests and the couple. It was very laid back but fun (groom a bit nervous and gad veen nartied before). They did the minimum required for the marriage to be legal but after it was a lovely meal and drinks with a few friends.

None of the stress of other weddings, but they are both very laid back people. If you do do it this way, good luck but remember to enjoy the day.
