Admiral trying to add an extra £112.88 to my car insurance policy I purchased two weeks ago

I received a letter from Admiral car insurance stating that I have to pay an extra £112.88 for my car insurance that I took out two weeks ago on the money supermarket website. The car insurance begun on the 18th. I think this is ridiculous as when purchasing online I checked all my details to ensure they were correct and confirmed the payment which was taken out my bank instantly. Now they are saying I have to pay more AND have to pay a £30 admin fee for their mistake!
Also if I want to cancel I have to pay £49 to do so!

The letter states on it they check internal and external databases to check the data i have entered is correct and have amended the policy based on this. Every single thing I have entered is correct therefore they have no evidence to charge me more.

I am going to be phoning them tomorrow as it is a bank holiday today. What can I do about this? Surely they cant do this then expect me to pay for their mis quote?

You will have to wait and see what they have found that they consider incorrect.
Sometimes when details are transposed from the comparison site to the actual insurers site there are inconsistencies.
That does not mean it is the insurers fault but some of the questions asked on comparison site do not completely match the questions asked on the insurers site.
If they have found some inconsistency that doesn't conform to their terms and conditions then you will either have to pay the extra or cancel. Whatever happens don't risk letting them cancel.

    Their mistake or your mistake?

Claims and incidents data, what other things you typed into comparison sites when getting quotes and other things are checked.
Surely they cant do this then expect me to pay for their mis quote?

If it is something they have picked up with their anti-fraud checks then yes they can. If it is an error, then you would expect them to reverse the decision.

Whenever you are not happy with your insurance company the route to go down is a complaint in line with their complaints procedure.

Then if you are not happy with the reply or they ignore you for 8 weeks you can escalate to the FOS for their adjudication at no cost to you

Apart from having specific questions to answer you also must agree that their cover all assumptions about you and any drivers to be included are also correct.

Did you check the wordings of the assumptions before agreeing them?

When they did this to me, they told me what they thought I had done wrong. I explained to them that they were trying to charge me for the same claim twice and it was all sorted out with very little fuss.

Tell them the truth (or don't run quotes based on lies) and this generally (everytime) won't happen!
