Cooker disappointment

Options
I bought a new gas cooker from AO. Cost £400 so not top of the range but not cheap either. Had it a week now and so disappointed. Despite it saying the cavity of the oven holds 65 litres and above the actual racks will only hold the smallest of roasting pans as they have a barrier at the back which is a good 9 or 10 inches from the back of the cooker. Always had gas and they haven't been like that before. It is taking an absolute age to cook anything. I thought it might just need 'running in' but used it every day for a week now and still very poor. Cooked some small chicken drumsticks yesterday and they took TWO HOURS to cook on gas mark 8 and it only goes up to gas mark 9 maximum. Had a neighbour here and she just couldn't believe that they were still raw after an hour.
I'm going to ring them tomorrow but wondered what rights, if any, I have for an exchange or refund.

Sounds like a weak gas supply. Get the fitter back to do some tests.

Agree, get your Gas Safe installer back to make sure it’s fitted properly.
Oven volume is a common issue, EU law states that manufactures must state overall volume of oven cavity for comparison but that doesn’t in any way give an indication of the practable useable space in the oven, you really need to look inside the ovens before you decide what suits you best space wise.
I’ve sold 58litre electric ovens with more usable height and depth than ovens with 72litre cavity’s

That was my thinking. Almost a foot of dead space at the back of the oven sounds wrong. I wonder if the racking has been assembled properly or whether it's still set up for transit. I agree with others on getting the gas tested, it sounds like there's a problem getting up to temperature.
