Any recommendations on where to look for a blu-ray external drive for a laptop? Or any recommended specific make?
I usually shop on Amazon (for their pick-up lockers) but lack of choice and decent reviews has put me off.
Thank you.

Try Novatech (https://www.novatech.co.uk/products/pioneer-bdr-xd05tb-black-external-blu-ray-re-writer/bdr-xd05tb.html) - bluray rewriter
or Asus at slightly less (around £55) https://www.amazon.co.uk/Asus-SBC-06D2X-U-External-Blu-ray-Reader/dp/B007IXNFEA/ref=sr_1_22?hvadid=80676698077649&hvbmt=bb&hvdev=c&hvqmt=b&keywords=external+dvd+drive+blu+ray&qid=1555859366&rnid=340832031&s=computers&sr=1-22 bluray reader only0 -

Thank you.
I want to be able to rip blu-rays onto the laptop. Can you do this with the read only drive or does it need it to be re-writer? I have done it with DVD's, and the drive is RW, so just want to check.0 -
I chose an Asus external blue ray drive from e-bay.
Wasn't plug and play with one of two usb cables missing.
Though sorted via Amazon with dual usb/usb power cable.
And some research online to get the drive recognised as blue ray in win10 -though since achievable and working as expected.
ASUS SBW-06D2X-U 6x Slim External Blu-Ray Writer
55 pounds + postage.
Though I'de purchase a brand new drive next time to avoid missing cable.
Please ensure your laptop and cpu+graphics can make most of blue rays if you plan to burn etc.
Yes you could rip with read only if you have enough storage to rip onto your laptop or whichever drive you plan to use.
Personally as I have blue ray burner -I purchased Tipard Blue Ray App which copies most blue ray movies though just for personal use which I upload to Infuse Pro -previously used Plex.Replenished CRA Reports.2020 Nissan Leaf 128-149 miles top charge. The Asus drive linked is a reader so it will read them, you just won't be able to write them. Its a combi drive so it'll read and write write DVDs and CD's, just can't write Blu-Ray.0
