Likely to be getting a new car in the not-to-distant future. Budget varies, depending if an inheritance comes through before the MOT (potential problem with emissions) is due or not - could be 5k or 17k!

Currently I have an 03 Citroen C3 - a bit of a pig rolling round corners, but great doing 68 - 75 on the motorways. Though motorway trips have got less and less over the years. Used to work in a car Dealership but that was over a decade ago.
Had considered Suzuki Swift & Hyundai 120/130 wary though of some similar cars - bonnet is so small in any crash I'd have the engine in my lap!

I have driven vans - so like the height advantage that SUVs give.

Anybody any comments on the relative merits between -
- Ford Ecosport (though I don't like the spare wheel on the back).
- Renault Capture,
- Vauxhall Mokka, & Crossland
- Suzuki Ignis.

Have a neighbour that has a Nissan Juke - don't like it. And, Peugeot 2008/3008 is also not favoured - no dealership where I live.

My Partner has osteoporosis - so needs a bit of space - nothing cramped.

Any other suggestions welcome.
I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard

You dislike the C3 because it rolls around corners but want an SUV?

I have a 4 month old Suzuki Ignis and I think it’s a really great car! Plenty of room inside (but that’s all relative I know...), excellent fuel economy - I’m getting over 64mpg, fun to drive, different styling from all the other SUVs which to me look very similar, comes in great colours, high driving position, comes with lots of things as standard, especially in the top trim the SZ5 etc etc...I could go on!.

If you read the reviews, I would generally agree with the comments. I would recommend a test drive!

Actually, why not test drive several different marques from local dealers to get a feel of what each offers?

    - Ford Ecosport (though I don't like the spare wheel on the back) - Steer well clear of Ford's Ecoboost engines.
    - Renault Capture, - Drives nicely. Petrol engine is very slow. Get the extended warranty
    - Vauxhall Mokka, & Crossland - Door feels like a tin can closing
    - Suzuki Ignis. Yeah get this one, or a Vitara or an S-Cross

I have a Hyundai iX20 and I love it! High roof, zippy engine even with the auto box (that I need, clutch leg does not work). 1.6, twin cam. Hyundai and Kia (merged companies) use their own steel from iron ore, safety cages are as good if not better than others.
I think this job really needs
    a much bigger hammer.

I have a 16 plate Ford C-Max 1.5 TDCI Titanium and it is fantastic. Comfortable, good on fuel and has mostly all of the available extras due to being the Titanium model. Nice amount of space too with a decent sized boot

    The C-Max isn't an SUV, it's a mini-MPV.

As it doesn't have the high ground clearance the height actually translates into decent headroom and you get normal car handling.

If you are looking at this category there is also the Mazda 5 and Toyota Verso.

I would reiterate the suggestion to go try a few and see what you like.

Wife has a Seat Arona, 1.0 petrol with 7spd dsg automatic gearbox, she really likes it. I find it a little dull but can't really fault it in terms of day to day usability. I think the VW T-roc and Audi Q2 are also similar but with increased levels of poshness (and price!).
