Hi, Just wondered if anyone can help. My partner is reg disabled and I'm basically a carer, I have been told that i can claim carers allowance. I just wondered who pays the carers allowance, and is it payment basically taken from my partners benefit to then pay me? if you know what I mean.

It's paid by DWP and will not "be taken" from your partner's benefits.
Does your partner receive a qualifying benefit? Being registered disabled doesn't count on it's own0 -
Thanks NeilCr, my partners gets disability and ESA. Didn't want my partner to lose money if I did claim.0

If you're not claiming ESA as a couple because you're not living together, does your partner live alone?0
