Barclays mortgage

Hi everyone,

All new to this! So last Wednesday the 17th we had a meeting with Barclays to proceed with full application after getting an aip for the amount we want to borrow! Partner is self employed and i work part time and receive tax credit payments.

So have received an update today from Barclays to say the valuation has been booked for the 24th of April, does this mean that the application has already been looked at by the underwriters or not as we don't have any checks logged on our credit reports? Thanks!:o

The whole application will depend on their valuation.
If it comes out as you want then things will proceed - if not they may come back to you with a lower mortgage offer.

I’m at the same stage as yours

Aip: 20/2/19
Full app: 3/4/19
Valuation booked: 3/4/19
Valuation completed: 12/4/19

Been waiting since and mortgage advisor hasn’t requested for anymore info yet so fingers crossed

I’m self employed and only needed to show last 13 weeks of books as I’m sub contractor
Mortgage is from Halifax

Iv also had 2 credit checks, 1 soft 1 hard

We were told 2 credit searches had already been done at aip and full ap stage but neither are showing on the reports

Credit checks update every month unless you’ve got Experian expert then it updates every day

I've got equifax and my parter has Experian expert. He hasn't had any that I can see either so I guess we'll just have to wait

Hi All


Here is our position ,


12-04-2019 Full application was submitted on Friday, received a text message and an email from Santander.
16-04-2019 Lender asked for more documents (Proof of address Submitted Council tax bill and water bill submitted)
24-04-2019 Inspection survey booked.


When I checked my Experian expert account, there is no search on it from Santander.


Looks like we also have to wait, no other option

I cannot remember specific dates, but we have applied for two mortgages with Barclays in the past month. Both times, full offers were made within 48 hours. I think valuations (carried out by Countrywide) are booked at the same time the case is passed over to an underwriter, so it's probably dependent on their work load too.

Received a call from the advisor today, mortgage is approved subject to valuation, underwriters were happy with everything so I guess the underwriters have approved before valuation in our case! ����

Our valuation also booked for tomorrow.


Till today strangely no alerts received from Experian regarding any soft/ hard searches.from lender.
