Motability Vehicle Contents Insurance

I had my Motability car stolen a couple of months ago. My car was not recovered and declared a Total Loss. I got a Courtesy car in the interim. All good. However, at the point of theft, I found out that the Insurance Cover offered by Motability doesn't cover personal possessions. My bad, it was reasonably clear, I just assumed and didn't read. Even worse, my House Contents cover didn't cover my mobility scooter (it's a self-propelled vehicle).
Now, I have today received my replacement vehicle and I can get free-standing cover for my mobility scooter for about £30 pa, but where can I get Contents Cover? is it best to specifically add car contents to my house cover or is there an insurer offering stand-alone cover?
As a side issue, this could be of interest to those with Company cars, do they always cover personal posessions?

Your home contents insurance would normally cover most reasonably portable possessions. Specialist stuff, like mobility scooters, may require dedicated policies.

It's a damn good idea to insure them, anyway, simply because of the risk to other people or road users...

It's also a good idea to leave only the minimum of valuables in your vehicle.

You may get cover under your contents insurance if you have cover for goods away from the home.

You will need to check with your insurance company if they cover goods left in the car.
