Hi all,
Firstly I want to thank everyone for the contributions on this forum, I have been glued to it since I started looking for a home.
We have recently exchanged on a new build and completion is estimated for early August. I have a couple of questions and any help would be much appreciated.
1. My current tenancy has a two month notice period, when should I look to provide my notice? I want a cross over and don't want to risk being homeless but ideally do not want to pay too much extra rent. When is completion actually set in stone? Could I agree a shorter notice period with my landlord via the agent? Or should I go direct to the landlord?
2. I currently have broadband and utilities on fixed contracts, can I simply transfer these over, would I have to break the contract and pay the associated fees? The new place only has electric, and currently I have both gas and electric, does this matter?
I have given my self anxiety over the whole process, and can't stop over thinking.
Any guidance would really be appreciated
Many thanks
