Stansted airport cheap/free parking

Hi everyone
I was wondering if someone could help me with this

three people will be travelling from manchester to stansted airport
the flight is tomorrow as it's an emergency

I have tried multiple options and not sure which one to pick

By Coach, it can take around 7 hours as there's no direct bus from manchester to stansted airport

By train quite expensive, especially considering it's last minute

By car, this is the best option but the parking is really expensive, I was wondering if someone is aware of nearby parking that is free(without causing issue to residence) or cheap.
The other issue is that this is a one way flight, i should be back within a week but don't know when as haven't done the return flight, which makes it more difficult to apply a fixed parking period.

I've seen a few threads around but they are quite old so will appreciate anyone having any new information on this matter that might be helpful

Given your circumstances I would leave the car in a long stay car park and pay whatever's due, or pay for a week's parking, whichever is cheaper. In an emergency you don't want to be faffing about with informal parking that may or may not be available, or worrying about how to get from there to the airport.
