Amazon credit card plan balance transfer

I recently opened a Amazon Platinum MasterCard to replace a House Of Fraser card. Always pay in full. Both cards are operated by new day. On the amazon card I’ve noticed a strange credit and debit for the same amount under the reference PLAN BALANCE TRANSFER. I used to work for a bank and understand cards have different plans for cash, retail, promo etc. But I don’t understand why an amount has been moved to a different plan. It’s the same amount as a purchase I made the day before. I called customer services and although the rep was pleasant she just said “you might see that sometimes don’t worry it’s nothing” but she didn’t give any explanation other than that. My previous Newday card with house of Fraser never showed these transactions. Any ideas ?

    Don't worry about it.

NewDay do a lot of tidying up around plans and transactions, leading to odd statement references.
  • I have seen this after I tried to do a balance transfer from the Amazon credit card. Word of warning, it didn't go as planned. They applied a credit for the amount of the balance transfer but didn't clear the debt. (Cue overdraft fees.) Instead, the balance was applied against future transactions. For these, there was a credit and debit for the same amount shown on the statement.
