Problem with DVLA

Hello, I am desperate for advice. I was a HGV driver, and over a year ago had an accident as I blackedout behind the wheel. I had a really bad chest infection but got pressured to drive the lorry back, as I wasn't far from my destination. I've managed to start braking before passing out but I've hit the road barriers.

After the accident doctors claimed it was an episode of cough syncope which never occured again since then.
I had my licence revoked and been told I can reapply for my driving licence after 6 months if it was a single episode of cough syncope. I am not on any medication, as I dont faint and my doctor contacted the Dvla as he believe I can drive again. It's been over 18 months now and the DVLA is still reviewing my case, called them multiple times and was always told that there is nothing I can do and there are no timeframes for reviewing each case.

As I can't even drive a car I struggle to get work because of my location. Is there anything I can do?

Thank you in advance.

The DVLA is notorious for the time it takes to deal with medical issues. The only suggestion I would make is to contact your MP.

There's a long thread about the medical team on the disability board. Nothing you can do but wait, I went through this due to epilepsy and waited a year.

Get an electric bicycle, you don't need a licence for one of those.
