The cost effective solution I use in my living room is the use of a chromecast audio and a Google home mini.
I have the the Chromecast audio plugged into a cheap, non smart sound stage via 3.5mm jack along with the tv, also via a 3.5mm jack in a splitter. I then have a Google home mini placed ontop. The mini is then linked to the CCA in the Google Home app.
If I ask a question the audio comes out of the mini, if I request music the mini hands off the audio to the CCA, which then plays via the soundstage. Soundstage automatically comes out of standby after a few seconds of input be detected.0 -
The Chromecast audio has been discontinued but some places still have them in stock so the OP should move fast if they want to go down that route. The max was half price not so long ago @£200. Probably about the correct price for it IMO0
