taff, it's a card now, the PO stopped doing telegrams quite a few years ago. I remember mum and dad sending me one after Laura's birth.
We had our joint last Sunday with friends, a reduced leg of lamb and the past two nights it's been leftover lamb biriani ala Jamie Oliver. I've still got the makings for another two meals for us in the freezer as well, so about £1.30 per meal for the lamb which I don't think is too bad.
We just had a short walk with Ziggy yesterday because we were both feeling a bit tired, I need to go and dress and pack because we are going home via the Wirral to see Steve's sister. I'll give Cranky a wave on my way past.0 -
Morning all
Woke at 5.15 this morning and then again at 7, I was going to get up then and be at the shops for opening but I must have drifted off againoh well that's what BH are for.
I need to go shopping today so will see if dd needs to go too will try and go sooner rather than later and get it out of the way.
OH is finishing laying the floor in the utility and downstairs loo, its been missing a tile out of the old floor for about a year now and we have been stepping on the concrete floor so I said enough now and insisted its done this weekend, he is taking the old one up and putting a new one down.
Washing on the go which will be hung out for a while today as its beautiful here and meant to be all weekend.
I think we will have a bbq tomorrow as its meant to be getting to 22 deg
Nels I can assure you it wasn't me on Brighton beach in my swimmers  and certainly not on the news !! it would scare people half to death :rotfl:
Specky thanks , you are always welcome here for dinner if you are ever down this way xx
SO 103 !!! blimey that's a good age, I suppose there is nothing you can do but be there for her xx
Have good weekends all xx0 -
SO, I knew your Mum was old, but didn't realize she was that old. Poor old lady, I hope you do get some good advice from her carers.
Nels, yes, I like to rediscover clothes, there's always something I'd forgotten about!0 -
Morning Campers.
Yeah! the sun has got his big hat on at last :j.
I have found a load of stuff to wash, including towels and the toilet mat ( and I said the washing was up to date ). I have also stripped the bed and the bedding is awaiting it's turn for the WM. The DW needs emptying and refilling with the breakfast dishes. Meanwhile Mr Fix It is weed burning on the patio . Why is is that he loves doing things when he has a tool for it, but cba to manually pulling them up ?:rotfl:
I hope to have a potter about in the garden today and then read my book. I settled down in the garden chair yesterday to read and here comes Dad dragging 2 legs of lamb for my freezer :rotfl:. Mr Fix It got 1 in ( somehow ) but Dad had to take the other home with him, he did stay with us for his tea first though.
This evening we are going to DD's for a BBQ :j ( looking forward to that ) plus that's tea sorted for today.
Sending everyone who is need for whatever reason, copious hugs today.
Take care all.

Afternoon all. Lovely day here. DD and dgs came up to play in the garden. The paddling pool and hosepipe came out, the swing and sandpit are already in situ so dgs had a great time. Hosepipes are so much fun!
They went home at 3pm so John is having a nap and I have been on here with a nice cuppa. Tea is fish and chips from the freezer so a nice easy meal tonight. Four year olds and their mummies are quite tiring!
Well hope you have enjoyed the sunshine. Hugs to all who need them especially poorlies and carers.

Lovely day, OH in the garden for most of the morning. Friend asked if I could get her some Blood, fish and bone from Aldi, unfortunately they were sold out, so had to do a scout round the town to find what she wanted.
Fish, chips and peas for supper. Have raspberries in jelly for dessert.0 -
Good afternoon everyone :hello:
What a beautiful day it's been with the sun shining through the windows. Of course my lot haven't appreciated it with everyone hiding out in their bedrooms. Steve did take the dogs out for a walk earlier though so at least he got some vitamin D.
Speaking of Steve, he had an Easter raffle at work yesterday and won a chicken dinner, a couple of Easter eggs and a bottle of whisky. His workmate offered him a lift home as he couldn't carry it all on the bus. We are having the chicken with salad for tea.
I have come down with a bit of a cold today so I feel a bit yuck but I won't complain as it is the first one I've had in years. I will dose myself up before bedtime and hopefully get a bit more sleep.
Hope you all have a really lovely Easter weekend, take care xx0 -

I thought I has misread it when I saw your Mother's age and am very impressed.
Gers
I am glad your Mother is improving and will be in hospital till she is steadier on her feet etc.
I went to meet an older DD in York as she had dropped her watch and damaged it . I forgot how busy, hot and humid the city centre can get and wished I had not worn heavy jeans. I managed to leave her watch to be repaired and treated her to a cheaper watch for the meantime and we had a posh ice cream while we were walking round.
As soon as I got home I changed to a light, loose dress and sandals which feels much more comfortable. Now sitting with my feet up and a cool drink and don't fancy the stew I made yesterday so treated myself to a small frozen pizza for later.

Evening everybody.
Very quiet day here, realised that neither of us had any cash earlier, so went to village for some as cleaner had to be paid and we like to have a little cash in the house just in case.
Had a phone call from a friend today to say that the tumour behind her left eye that she was expecting to have chemo for has now disappeared. Naturally she is over the moon, and, as well as the oncologist, totally gobsmacked. But in the nicest possible way..
SilverOldie......what a great age for your mother...,I suppose she feels entitled to be a little cranky having been around people for so long.
Hugs to Holly, Poppy and anyone else who could do with one.
Happy Easter
