Re product faults as a UK consumer does the consumer protection laws just exclusively to the "first and original purchaser" and are the protections passed on to the secondary purchaser

    I may well be wasting my time given your other threads but here goes.


    Consumer rights only ever apply to the purchaser, they cannot be transferred. In your example, if your sister had a problem you would have to invoke the consumer rights with PCW (good luck with that!).


    Warranty may or may not be transferrable, you would need to read the terms and conditions that come with the warrants.

    I wonder if statute law makes any distinction on ownership...? Would the OP be entitled to return property he/she didn't own for replacement/repair...?

    Rather than "not true", my answer was true except in limited circumstances that most people won't be aware of.
