Morrisons Fuel Vouchers 5p/litre off - NOT!

Went to Morrisons yesterday as it was the last day to redeem the latest 5p/litre off voucher. Despite having to queue due to the large number of people doing the same I though it was worth the wait. However I'm mystified by the discount I got. This is what the receipt says:
51.42 litres @ £1.279 = £65.77
Coupons £1.55
Balance £64.22
Now my ageing brain thinks that 5p/litre for this amount is £2.55 not £1.55 (it's calculated on whole litres only I know).
As the whole process is automated how come the computerised tills can get this wrong? I calculate the discount being offered is just over 3p/litre.
I know it's not much but surely if they advertise 5p we should get 5p. Has anyone else been affected?

(51 x £1.229 = £62.679) + (0.42 x £1.279 = £0.53718) = £63.21618 or £63.22
Yes I agree if it was £0.05 / litre discount then I think you have overpaid by £1.00 based on the information provided above.May you find your sister soon Helli.

I actually had this with Morrisons a few years ago, exactly the same offer (5p off) and a very similar sounding error where it took less off than I worked out in my head.
Queried it with the person serving me at the time who got out their calculator, agreed, then gave me the difference as a manual credit. Sounds like they haven't learned from their computerised mistake!0 -
What concerns me more than the £1 I overpaid is the tills are all computer controlled and if I'm being overcharged the likelihood is that ALL customers are being similarly treated.0

You are right, but worry about yourself 1st .0 -
I used my 5p per litre coupon Wednesday. Had 27 litres (filled up, had to use coupon as was due to expire) and was given £1.35 off. I had worked out that would be my discount as I queued to pay.
So no problem in my Morrison's.
OP I suggest you email their customer services with a photo of your receipt.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson
