Being charged by two energy providers

Hi all,

I switched energy provider and this is the first month they have billed me but just checked my bank account and saw my old one has billed me today as well. Are they allowed to do this or is it an error?

Are you sure its not a Final Bill from old supplier .

They said final bill but I switched on 4th March so I would have thought the 18th March would have been my final bill.

Maybe this was the final final bill?

Or maybe it was just a preliminary final bill, and the final final one will come next month?

Which bank are you with that receives your energy bills for you?

I would check your bills and payments with your old supplier normally this is them just closing down the account.

This is quite the norm as they have up to 6 weeks to send you a final bill after you leave them
