This is is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Morning all
Looks like a nice day here again although a bit breezy reptile day at work today so more snakes etc today.Chocolate brownie cherry and almond slice and soup to make today ! Last day before the easter break though.
Might do an omlette for dinner tonight as I have a lot of eggs to use up somehow, will do some bread and butter and salad with it.
Muat do a wash tonight as I think we are laying the floor in the utility and toilet tomorrow so the wm will be out of action till its done.
Have good days all and hugs where needed xx

Good morning.
Thanks for the thread redruby.
This morning the new blind is being installed in DM's bedroom, the cleaner is coming and this afternoon I've got my one student again. I have to do some prep for him, I've put it off too long.
DM was so much better yesterday, there's talk of her being discharged soon. I've made it clear that the district nurse, physio and careers are out in place before discharge so that DM isn't left without these again.
Yesterday I had my favourite lambs liver with a pile of fried onions. There's enough left for today too.
I hope that everyone is doing well. Happy Thursday to all.0 -

Was thinking about you rubes this morning when I was watching Carol on BBC news .. she was on the beach at brighton and there was a lady swimming in the sea ...wondered if it was you out for some morning exercise :rotfl:

Hello everyone,
I can't quite believe it's Thursday already!! Where are the days going?!
Yesterday I stayed late in work but it got so late that I couldn't concentrate so I went straight to the gym for a very short run. Again I felt distracted and the need to go home, despite having nothing to do at home really. Anyway, I decided to watch the new GoT episode, read a bit then go to sleep.
No gym this morning although I will go after work for a good bit. I've not got much planned for the Easter Weekend, other than an old colleague is coming to Manchester on Saturday and I said I'd go meet him and Mrs for a drink or two. Aside from that, the 4 days are to myself so I'm not sure what mischief I'll get up to but I'll try and be as productive as possible.
NSD #8 yesterday
RR - Sounds delish. Your meals always do!
Gers - Sounds like things are falling into place for her return. I'm sure she'll feel better for being home, too.
Nels - Can always count on you to give me a chuckle!0 -
Morning all! I was absolutely exhausted yesterday after the radio, but it might also have something to do with being out of the house for over five hours - patient transport took three of us, so we had to wait till all three were done. Had a great chat with one of the people, she was very funny and irreverent, hope it goes well for her. Holly, I passed on your link to her because it was her last day too. Hope I don't spend too much time there today.
Cut the grass on the verge outside yesterday before i went, took up half of it, will do the rest in a bit, was too tired to finish yesterday.
And my puzzle arrived which means I will be sitting by the table when I get back today, sorting out the outside. I may wee myself with excitement..:)
Gers, your talk of liver summoned she who loves itHope you enjoy a long break, good to see her rallying..Nelski, missed you...enjoy the garden! cook up a storm! Speky, relax and enjoy yourself, and if that means boxing lumps out of something or tying yourself up in pretzels then all to the good...Yo Holly! Wotcha MIA's..Wotcha those to come...
Thunderously good Thursday!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
taff, don't overdo! Enjoy your puzzle, am I the only person who leaves the outside and starts in the centre putting the edges in when they come up?
I hope everyone has a good weekend, it looks like most of it will be good weatherwise.
We went to the beach yesterday, it's an hour to our closest at Arnside. I wanted to let Ziggy have a proper run, we can't let her off the lead round here because of all the sheep. She had lots of zoomies with other dogs and slept all evening and night. I think I might take her to the canal towpath today because i will probably be able to let her off there as well.0 -
Morning everyone
I had little grand daughter to stay last night so her mummy could have a decent sleep. At the minute little one is lying across my shoulder fast asleep...I could move and pop her back in her Moses basket but it really is lovely sitting like this. I finished feeding her at 11 last night and we were both asleep for quarter past and that was her through till after half 5 this morning. I do feel I've been up for a long time considering it's only quarter past 9. DD and I are going into town for lunch later and then I feel I may need a nap!
Hope everyone has a good day0 -
Snoozer I seperate the colours and do them by colour blocks .I wonder if there is a name for jigsaw fanatics
I have a few days off now as DD is off today and her OH is home tomorrow to keep an eye on the boys
so I may get on a bus later and have a ride up to Bluewater and use up my JL coffee and cake freebie and have a mooch around the shops .probably won't buy much but I do like a good mosey around now and again and a free cuppa and cake is not to be sniffed at
Hope everyone has a nice break over the weekend and enjoys whatever they are doing Our local country park has an English country fair this weekend so I may go along to see it as often there are some nice bits to be had to put away for *m*s presents (didn't say the dreaded word
Cheers chums JackieO xx0 -
Long post vanished. Hope everyone is OK. Best wishes, I'll be back properly once I get some stuff sorted out.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0

OL, liver is now n the forbidden list for pregnant women, along with soft cheese etc. It's a wonder any of us survived! Steve has to eat like a pregnant woman atm in case his immune levels are shot by the chemo.0

Hello all
Mr Fix It decided that he was able to drive so I have been hunting and gathering in Morries this morning. It wasn't too busy, but lots of cars were pulling up as we left, so I think we missed the crowds. I have played freezer tetris, found the turkey and the pork and shoehorned a choc gateau in. I'm having a quick coffee as I still have some shopping to put away upstairs and out of sight, so we can't be tempted before the holiday :rotfl:.
I did the last of the washing yesterday and :shhh: the ironing basket is empty too :j.
My plan for this afternoon is to mow the lawns, then later have a relaxing bubble bath.
Tea will be sausage, mash and onion gravy with ice cream for pudding.
Re jigsaws- I like to start with the 4 corners and then the outsides.
Nelski I miss your posts. I'm sorry that you are feeling a bit meh. I never have much to say either :D. I shall send you a great big teddy bear hug to cheer you up :A.
dp1 that is one of the best feelings in the world :T.
taff I hope today isn't so hard for you.
Gers I'm glad DM is feeling better.
AOD I hate it when that happens....... I wonder where they go ?
Holly and Poppy you are both in my thoughts.
Enjoy Thursday, whatever your plans.
Take care and hugs to all.
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0
