After the worst customer service experience I’ve ever encountered I’ve decided to leave EDF although I pay the £70 early dual fuel termination fee I am marginally better off with my new tariff and would not consider for such a low amount but determined to leave this shocking company and its pathetic CS.

I want to calculate my final bill when the I give my final readings since my credit should cover it.

One quick question do I pay VAT on the early termination fee?

VAT does apply to such fees. And it will be applied at 20%, not 5%

You will need to check your terms to establish if the £70 is inclusive or exclusive of the VAT.

Just back off online chat and eventually told no VAT is added, I will wait and see .
I had to ask the question about 5 times since the girl was just throwing answers to my question that had nothing to do with the actual question and just eventually said no.
It’s like talking to Martians with them.
Can’t wait to leave them and will never return, since it’s an online account they refuse to talk to you on the phone and the only contact allowed is the Indian online chat room who just do not understand the most basic question and eventually tell you anything to get rid off you.
