A gap in my history with a company?

Options
Hi there!

I have just checked a Statutory report of my credit file, and cant help but notice a 15 month gap in terms of "payments" to a certain company.

March 2015 a "Late payment marker" was added to an account, I cleared the debt with a payment plan which took around 15 months in total from the date in march.

Now i have done some research and have read that even though i was in a payment plan, the company should still have updated the CRA's with an "arrangement to pay" and reported the balance through those months coming down as i was paying it per month.

Now, March 2015 the late payment marker was added, From there forward NOTHING and i mean ZILCH was updated to the CRA's, there is no "Arrangement to pay" "Late payment" "Up to date" markers at all, just blank..then in may 2017 there was an update with "Settled".

If i'm correct, they should of been reporting the balance per month to the CRA to show it was coming down, yes?

Correct me if im wrong :)!

Thankyou.

Make a complaint to whoever was managing the account at the time. State that you want the data that they reporting to the CRA to be accurate. Have you checked your credit files with the other two CRAs, just in case the account is being reported incorrectly to them too?

Hi Willing2Learn! Yup checked them all, They all show the same exact gap..

I don't know how I haven't noticed it sooner, Maybe because it was in "Closed" accounts, and its just not something I look at usually.

I seem to be having a Mare the past week or so with incorrect updates and incorrect information being added or not added to my file/history.

Virgin media have closed and reopened an account 3 times in the past few months in my credit file also.

BAAH! I thought being debt free would be less stressful LOL!
  • Contact them and ask them to update the missing markers then
