M and S bank - requirements for monthly saver

I have two M and S current accounts and just trying to refresh my memory as to why. First opened in late 2015 and second in first part of 2016. First one just had £250 in and out for monthly saver (though no longer does) whereas the second one has two active DD and was switched into from another bank (and is now the one with £250 in and out for monthly saver).
Hence am I right in thinking that originally M and S had no requirements to qualify for the monthly saver (other than having a current account) but then changed it to needing to have switched plus two DD? Would explain the above and means my first one is redundant now so can be switched away.
Thanks.
