Credit card thought was closed

Options
Just checking credit file and noticed in open accounts there is a vanquis card with zero balance and £800 credit limit, definitely asked them to close it years ago , never had any correspondence from them , don’t even know the full account number , it says last updated March 2019 , trying to clean up file should I contact them about it ?

I'm sure if you give them a call, they'll soon find you on their system and will help accordingly.

Why would you want to close it? it doesn't cost anything, why waste your time? And more importantly, the more credit you have available, the smaller percentage of your credit your using, which looks good on your credit score.

No, it doesn't - nothing looks good on your "score".

It's not necessary to have an account open that isn't being used - besides it will reach a point where it becomes dormant and auto-close anyway

Yes, make sure it's closed off properly, the last nightmare you need is someone spoofing a dormant but valid card number attached to your name.
(Although I could be wrong, I often am.)
